the twisted, corrupted dryads who awake after having their trees destroyed are the evil splintwaifs. Myrmillion was surprised to discover such a creature exised, and that so many of them hid in the lands of the fey. The splintwaif are the emodiment of the Circle’s End mission to destroy the civilised, and restore the wilds. The mission would probably catch on more quickly if the splintwaifs did not salivate on themselves when they speak of turning into bushes all the delicious children.
